  • Support was provided to main contractor for the development of the old Doha Port Project in Qatar
  • The engineering package scope including SC requirements were met
  • BIM was utilised to support the execution of the project
  • Generation of COBie and Asset Management Schedules were also utilised
Sustainability Environment, Social and Governances
  • BEC are committed to implemented sustainable techniques in relation to supporting Energy Transition, Minimizing Environmental Impacts, Growing societal values and ensuring safer operations in its design and execution strategies
  • During Technical Studies execution, BEC ensure to implement these principles, examples include the following:
    • Preventing uncontrolled release of emissions to the atmosphere by ensuring control measures are in place
    • Re-use of by-products from the process or activity
    • Use of alternative energy techniques
    • Localisation of material sourcing
    • Re-use of existing equipment planned for demolition
    • Water Management / Resource Management
    • Safe practices with procedures and guidance managed
  • Appropriate actions are suggested and agreed by the forum for closeouts
  • Recently launched Aramco Sustainability Report for 2021 sets out clear principles which BEC will implement in all projects and design.
Fast Track Construction
SCOPE REQUIREMENTS
  • Fast Track Construction
  • Modulization of construction Techniques
BEC RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
  • Significant experience gained as a PMC consultant to construction projects in Saudi Arabia has ensured schedule optimization through means such as:
    • Overlapping of key activities demonstrated during Plant Shutdown PMC activities
    • Coordination and incorporation of key activities required during short windows
    • As a design consultant, a focus on floating Material Requisitions as early in design as feasible for long lead item. This is demonstrated on the 50+ design projects BEC engaged in to be executed during a shutdown window which required timely arrival of long lead material
  • Experience has also been gains on pre-fabrication activities, modulization where possible considering challenging execution schedules. Again, these are common activities during facilities shutdown, which BEC has gained considerable experience
