A glittering royal reception and a momentous day to remember awaited representatives of Berkeley Engineering Consultants when they visited Buckingham Palace and received personal recognition from Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales, for their achievement in winning a Queen’s Award for International Trade.
On 11 June, Berkeley Chairman Dr. Habib Piracha and CEO Irteza Piracha made the short walk from their Berkeley Square offices, across Green Park, to Buckingham Palace, and their date with royalty. The choice of venue was recognition of the fact that The Queen’s Awards are the most prestigious for UK companies, celebrating business excellence across the country. As winners, Berkeley have demonstrated outstanding success in international trade.
Commenting on Berkeley’s royal honour, CEO, Irteza Piracha, said: “Although only two representatives of the company were able to attend the reception, this was a very proud day for our entire team, here in London and across the world. We also hope that the Queen’s Award will bring pleasure to our highly-valued and esteemed clients, as they too have played a vital role in our recent success.
“We have already achieved many notable milestones in our relatively short history, and see this award as an important springboard to the next stage of our development as a business. We hope, in the coming years, our company will further enhance its status as a global leader in the energysector.”
he Buckingham Palace reception proved a fitting celebration of the achievement. Added Irteza Piracha: “The whole event was superbly organised in the most stunning of venues. It was marvellous that members of the Royal Family were personally involved and that contributed to a truly memorable occasion. During the evening we had a detailed discussion with the Duke of Gloucester and he advised us to consider the Brazilian market.”
